RAIN GARDENS
Wednesday, March 24, 2021
10:00 AM-1:00 AM
REMOTE ON ZOOM
Speaker: Ann Edmonds
Ann Edmonds will show us how to transform an occasionally flooded space into a beautiful landscape. Rain gardens, only a few inches deep, hold water for just a day or so. Plants in a rain garden slow the rate of stormwater runoff, help to reduce flooding, erosion and provide food and habitat for wildlife. This presentation will cover location, site preparation, appropriate plants and how to care for the
rain garden.
Ann Edmonds is a CCE Master Gardener Volunteer at the
Vegetable Demonstration Garden at Hart’s Brook Park and Preserve in Hartsdale, NY.She has also volunteered at NYBG in the Family Garden. Ann is a lifelong avid flower and vegetable gardener. She has extensively planted her own yard, a neighbor’s vegetable garden and a church flower garden.
