Catherine Ludden's garden (1 Cross Hill Road, Hartsdale, NY 10530) is a remarkable example of a property transitioning from exotics to natives. The challenging site has been transformed through hardscaping and design into a serene and charming property. There are shady and sunny areas, a rain garden, a collection of spring ephemerals and specimen trees. Most of the garden is level with easy access. A small hillside portion has steep paths.

Catherine Ludden is a knowledgeable and charming guide with an infectious enthusiasm for native plants. Catherine is on the board of the Native Plant Center at Westchester Community College.
