The extraordinary estate of Mr. Michael Bakwin is noted for its refined natural beauty. A tapestry of gardens includes perennials, mosses, an oriental-style planting, rock gardens, woodland areas, vegetables, meadow and lakeshore features including native plants.
Mr. Bakwin has an intense interest in horticulture and is a dedicated supporter of NYBG, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, the Untermyer Gardens Conservancy and Teatown Lake Reservation.
Ed Impara and Cathy Beauregard, both graduates of NYBG, create and maintain the gardens.

Bakwin Estate is located on Route 134 (335 Croton Dam Road), Ossining, NY between the Taconic State Parkway and Route 9A.
From Route 9A (N or S) take Route 134 East approximately 1.5 miles. The estate entrance is on the left flanked by two stone pillars. Mailbox (#335) is on the right.
From the Taconic State Parkway (N or S) take Route 134 West approximately 1.4 miles. The estate entrance is on the right flanked by two stone pillars. Mailbox (#335) is on the left.
