Ruth Rogers Clausen’s illustrated talk will convince you that small spaces need not demand small plants!
She demonstrates designing limited garden spaces with perennials, enabling plants to pull their weight each season. Ruth recommends plants with appealing foliage and attractive seed heads that keep the garden fascinating without using “two-week wonders.”
Ruth Rogers Clausen trained in horticulture at Studley College in England and received her MS in Botany from Kent State University, Ohio. She co-authored Perennials for American Gardens and wrote Dreamscaping. She has written articles for New York, Brooklyn, Missouri and Chicago botanical gardens.She will offer her book for sale.

From the Saw Mill Parkway (N or S) take Exit 17 (Dobbs Ferry/ Ardsley). Turn East onto Ashford Avenue at light (left from North and right from South). Proceed two lights and turn left on Route 9A North. Next turn right onto Heatherdell Road. Continue approximately 1 mile and then turn left onto Olympic Lane. Go to Multipurpose Building (at top of hill).
