Regarded as a horticultural hub of Westchester County, Lasdon Park, Arboretum and Veterans Memorial is home to plants, shrubs and trees from all over the world. Enjoy a guided tour of the gardens and learn about the ongoing horticultural studies. The new Glass House Conservatory is a work in progress. Our guide will give us up to the minute details on this new botanical environment.

The old Lasdon Estate has been developed into a Nature sanctuary for birds, bees, butterflies and wildlife. There is ongoing plant research on the property to develop disease resistant varieties. Come and see the magnificent property of woodlands, grass meadows, rain garden and formal gardens that offer a picturesque view of trees, shrubs and flower specimens from all over the world.

Tolly Beck is the horticulturist at Lasdon Park and Arboretum in Westchester County. She was formerly a horticulture educator for New York Botanical Gardens in the Bronx and Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rockland County, NY.

Directions to Lasdon Park and Arboretum, 2610 Amawalk Road, Rte. 35, Somers, NY

From I-684 to Exit 6.Turn onto Rte. 35 West and continue for approximately 4 miles.Lasdon Park and Arboretum will be on the left.Follow the signs to the parking lot.

Fee

$18 per session ($20 at door) or $90 for the entire 2017 Home Gardening Lecture Series
