CHALLENGING HABITATS

  • Wednesday, April 13, 2016, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Session four of a six part series of the 2016 Home Gardening Lecture Series:

Join Bernd Blossey to learn about the interplay of deer, worms, and invasive plants in our environs. Habitats of the Northeast are facing unprecedented challenges impacting our home gardens. What are the ecological consequences of invasives? He will explain which species can be assumed safe and which species may become extinct. Bernd will challenge us to become stewards of our natural heritage.

Bernd Blossey is an Associate Professor in the Natural Resources Department at Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and is the director of the Ecology and Management of Invasive Plants Program. Bernd continues to develop and implement programs for biological weed control, deer management and land management.
